Pintoli's cafe to open at Picklefish site
Pintoli's Italian Café has leased the former Picklefish restaurant space at 251 Dauphin St. downtown and plans to open in late October, according to owner Stephanie Pinto . The menu at the 5,000-square-foot restaurant will include pizza, Italian dishes and steaks, she said. Pinto owns Pintoli's restaurants in Satsuma and Atmore, and has franchised the downtown store. Picklefish closed downtown last month, but its west Mobile store on Old Shell Road remains open.

Hancock buys Midtown land for branch
Hancock Bank paid $1.2 million for 1.1 acres next to the southeast corner of Dauphin Street and Sage Avenue in Midtown, and will open a branch office there next year, according to David Morris of Courtney & Morris. The former Graf property fronts Dauphin Street and was the first commercial lot to sell at the 36-acre site. Local developers have a contract with the Grafs to buy 12 acres and plan to build The Preserves at Mid town , a 77-unit townhome complex on Sage Avenue off Dauphin Street.

Batchelor'sto build new headquarters
Batchelor's Mechanical has purchased 4 acres on Baldwin County 49 and Industrial Park Drive in Loxley, planning to build an 18,000-square-foot facility, according to Louise McCown of Coldwell Banker Reehl Properties in Fairhope, who represented the company. Batchelor's will relocate from its headquarters on Old Shell Road in Mobile. The building should be finished by the end of the year. The contractor is Vance McCown Construction .

Dauphin Island buys 4 waterfront lots
The town of Dauphin Island paid almost $1.1 million for four waterfront lots with 180 front feet on Aloe Bay off DeSoto Avenue, according to Linda Henderson of Dauphin Island Real Estate , who represented the town. Howard Yeager of Alabama Realty represented the sellers. The land sale averaged $46.48 per square foot, agents said. Insurer buys downtown office building
Fowlkes McPherson Insur ance has purchased a 7,200-square-foot office building at 803 Government St., for $700,000, according to Frank Fowlkes , president of the company. The insurance firm has moved its offices there, and most of the two-story building is leased by Aerostar Environmental Services . Starke Irvine of the Irvine Co. in Daphne handled the transaction.
