Grab your flashlight and get in on an Alabama ghost hunt
Standing in a darkened room, wearing a flashlight that clips to my head, I'm frantically writing notes - ambient temperature, electromagnetic field reading - all the time keeping my eye on the K2 meter. From time to time, someone in the room with me calls out "Flash" and clicks the shutter on a camera.

Three days of Middle Eastern food
St. George's Middle Eastern Food Festival kicked off Thursday with entertainment, cultural booths and, of course, plenty of food. Parishioners at Birmingham's Melkite Greek Catholic Church, where the three-day festival is held, started preparing pastries for the festival in August and rolled grape leaves and baked kibbee for the event last month. About 8,000 people attended last year's festival to partake of the menu that includes spinach pie, baked chicken, hummus and Middle Eastern pastries such as baklava and mamoul. Lunch hours are 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. each day and dinner 4-9 p.m. The festival also offers drive-through service 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for lunch and 4-7 p.m. for dinner.
